September’s Instant Game Collection content is now live for PlayStation Plus users, which brings three new PS3 titles and three new PS Vita titles to the service. Maybe a good time to buy a now discounted Vita memory card, then.
The PS3 titles include the third main instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, with plenty of time for you to complete it before Assassin’s Creed IV hits this November, as well as the Jak & Daxter trilogy, which I’ve always wanted to play after completing the first but forgetting about the others.
For both PS3 and Vita, there’s Stealth Inc: A Clone In The Dark, a brilliant stealthy platformer which we described as “a very good game” in our review.
And for Vita only, there’s Urban Trial Freestyle, which is somewhat similar to RedLynx’s Trials series and New Little King’s Story too.
PlayStation Plus continues to deliver astounding value for just a shade over £3 a month.

Really? it’s still August though, has this happened before?
Blair Inglis
They just do it the Wednesday as close to the start of the month as possible, I think.
beeje13
Ok, thanks for that.
Raheel Virk
Somebody plz reloply are you sure this is spetember instant collection Cuz now its says its Gta liberty stories and Resident evil GH collection and Other stuff plz help im confused i though we were getting Ac3 And jak and Daxter Trilogy
Blair Inglis
This is the update for Europe. Are you from the US?
Raheel Virk
Ohh Nope im from USA damit i though wow sony why i really wanted jak and daxter nooo :( but thanks for telling
leeroye
Stealth inc and Jak are showing as free on vita but when i click on them it says im not eligable to purchase. This is on the web store.
DJ Judas
Stealth inc is downloading fine for me and I’ve grabbed J+D too (no space to download though).
leeroye
For Vita? PS3 versions are fine.
DJ Judas
Yep, for Vita.
Starman
I’ve had this problem since the store relaunch last year. If I’ve had the demo of a vita game I can’t get the full game upgrade from the ps3 store.
BoneCraKeR
This just happened to me, if you have the ps3 version on your basket it won’t let you add the vita version. You have to do it one at a time.
leeroye
Cheers mate, that worked a treat, thanks.

They didn’t announce a 64GB PS Vita card, did they? *sobs*
cam the man
It’s about time they did.
Lymmusic
technically difficult as they use FAT32 file format, the 32 being the upper limit of storage capacity for a partition…
better get used to 32gb cards
sparkyscrum
Not that difficult at all as Micro SD have 6GB cards…

sparkyscrum
Grrrr 64GB cards even.
Bladesteel
@Lymmusic
Do you have a source for that? I can’t see why they’d use FAT32 on their proprietary cards that they’d want to make as hard as possible to read on other equipment. (and avoid paying royalties to Microsoft)
Anyway FAT32 isn’t limited to 32GB but to 16TB
HunterGatherer
Vita uses Fat32, but the contents are encrypted used the hardware encryption provided by the magigate hardware in the Vita memory cards, this is WHY Sony don’t (and can’t) use standard SD cards, as SD cards don’t have hardware to decrypt the contents, which would be slower software decryption and the possibility of hacking it.
Bladesteel
No source and I’m unable to find anything through google about what file system the vita memory cards use.
DJ Judas
I was unsure whether this would be the case, but the Jak and Daxter trilogy is on Vita too, the only downside is the individual games aren’t available through plus and I can’t spare 3GB on my memory card.
Lymmusic
… in all honesty the vita versions are worse than the ps2 originals, frame rate in particular taking a massive hit. mandatory use of the rear touch panel rears its ugly head again… beginning to wish they’d put triggers on the vita.
they are glorious conversions on the ps3 though… just remember how hard games used to be with evil checkpoints
DJ Judas
Just as well I didn’t have space then by the sounds of it. I’ve been playing through the first this evening and really enjoying it. Although I don’t seem to be able to remember much from the game (think I’ve combined R+C with J+D in my head over the years).
nightdc
Jak & Daxter trilogy free for ps3 and vita. Awesome, I so need a bigger memory card.
3shirts
Pretty sure it’s just PS3
3shirts
Nope, ignore me *slaps self*
Kivi95
That’s a nice suprise since they said on the blog it was only the PS3 version.
bap10
What a mighty fine update.
But its not letting me download Urban Trial Freestyle. (not eligable to purchase)
cc_star
Have you already downloaded the trial, if so the PlayStation Store is a sack of shite & you have to redownload the trial from your download list. Then pray that it doesn’t expire as it recognises you have Plus
bap10
Yep.
Think I have had this problem before with trials. Silly me for using trials ;)
Thanks for the info.
And also TSA nice touch with the links. :)
TSBonyman
It’s still showing up as costing 4.99 for me, i’ll check back later on.
leeroye
Anyone been able to get J & D for vita from the web store?
bap10
Nope, had to use the Vita store to get it.
ruinereraser
I did, just had to put it in the separate basket/purchase.
3shirts
Love that you link to the items in the store. Super handy!
Thanks
double-o-dave
I traded my copy of AC3 after about 6-8hrs gameplay as it was so god damn boring & dull! I’m in two minds whether to download it again and carry on from my save game files just to see the so called ‘let down’ ending.
dizwod
I lent my game to someone after i finished it…. may be the only way I get to play it again lol
dizwod
Not showing on the web store… or am I being dim (as usual)
