Disney Infinity’s Second Wave Of Products Priced & Dated

Across the pond, Toys R Us and the official Disney Store are listing upcoming products for Disney Infinity. The game, which launched almost a fortnight ago here in the UK, released with a starter kit along with a dozen or so add-ons. These include additional figures (both individual and in packs of three), playsets, power discs, and even an assortment of storage/display solutions.

However, it was clear from the onset that Disney would continue to rapidly expand its newest gaming experiment. Pre-release trailers showed a number of characters who weren’t present in the game’s launch line-up, including Wreck-It Ralph, Rapunzel, and the Toy Story cast to new but a few.

According to the recent listings, fans can expect a Toy Story playset to launch next month. Like previous playsets, it will include two characters as well as a power disc that unlocks hours of playable content.

Meanwhile, in November we’ll see the launch of a “Frozen” Toy Box pack. Unlike playsets, these packs offer little in terms of actual in-game content, serving up two new characters along with a pair of regular power discs.

Speaking of power discs, the second series of Infinity’s physical in-game boosts will also launch in November.

There are still a few omissions here and there though we expect Disney to also launch a new range of individual characters and bundles in the coming months.

  1. If done right this is going to become a compete cash cow for them!

    • Paying £20-£30 for a couple of figures and a 10 hour game doesn’t seem too bad. If they keep this up for all Disney films they’ll make a lot of money and most players will be quite happy.

It’s a great way to basically sell DLC to people who wouldn’t normally buy it.

      • It does have its ups and downs.

However, with the second wave there could be some confusion. The “Frozen” pack won’t offer a playable world for gamers to explore, just two characters and two standard power discs. Basically, you can only use them in the Toy Box which is a shame.

Hopefully Disney commit themselves towards more playsets and not just character add-ons.

      • I noticed on the packs for the Frozen, Tangled, Nightmare before Christmas etc… characters it says for Toy Box use only.

I’d expected a playset for Frozen to go alongside the film. Personally I won’t be buying characters without playsets. £12 is too much especially as I managed to pick for the Cars playset for £20.

  2. Please keep this information quite – if my son finds out it’s going to cost me an absolute fortune lol
