Final Fantasy XIV Launching On PS4 In February, Free Beta Transfer For PS3 Players

Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will release on PlayStation 4 in time for the console’s launch in Japan. The beta will officially go live on Saturday, 22nd February and will be available in North America and Europe too.

The MMO, which is currently subscription-based, will also allow players to switch from the PS3 version to its next-gen counterpart at no additional cost. Free character transfers have also been announced.

It’s a generous move by Square Enix, albeit an expected one. The publisher has yet to really show off its PS4 port, though the only changes are likely to be technical, seeing an all-round improvement in performance.
