Rounding out our morning of pitting pretty flowers against mouldy old corpses, we sat down with Gary Clay, Senior Franchise Marketing Manager at PopCap Games, to quiz him about some of the decisions behind Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.
Alongside this video, we’ve also posted our review of the title earlier this morning and some gameplay videos of the game’s two main modes, Garden Ops co-op and Gardens & Graveyards competitive multiplayer.

Lovely stuff, fella. Genuinely top bloke to interview too. Quick question: Seeing as I hate competitive multiplayer as much as I hate Mick Hucknall… does the co-op mode feel more like Dungeon Defenders, where four of you team up against the AI to finish a level? If so… this has me hugely interested.

Also… with the above in mind, do you think there’s enough game there for someone like me (who probably won’t play the competitive multiplayer mode)?
Stefan L
Yeah, it’s similar to that set up, as you have to defend a garden from waves of enemies.
But, if you’re only after tht half, it might be best to wait and see how PopCap update the game (the PC version doesn’t have a date yet). There’s only a handful of maps, for one thing, so you’d want to look again when it’s a little more fleshed out.

Ah, will do. They seem very keen to look after their titles for the long run so this will hopefully benefit from such timely luvvin’.

Oh, absolutely. The first extra content is set for March, so they’re getting that ball rolling right away.
