Call Of Duty Black Ops III Live Action Trailer Timelines Impact Of Human Augmentation

Call Of Duty: Black Ops III was teased a little while back with leaks suggesting it would be set in the future. Those rumours are true and it appears Treyarch’s next foray will place players in the mid 21st century. It is a world where human augmentation has become so normalised that people can buy them at shopping centres. These items allow people to become faster and to see more in their environment. However it is also being used by the government for more covert applications.

A whistleblower in the above trailer states that soldiers are receiving augmentations that are much more powerful than those available to the average citizen, but this is all denied by a US government representative. The last part of the trailer seems to be centred around a covert mission, and it looks like the soldier has eye augmentations that allow him to switch between different types of sight, including thermal vision. There isn’t any detail on what the story of Black Ops III will revolve around, but we will get more information soon.

  1. Deus Ex says hello

    • COD says Augmented Zombies Mode to the extreme. I am probably not joking.

  2. If this is the start of “Let’s all be like Deus EX” for Battlefield and COD, i won’t be happy as i do not want to end up hating augmented settings due to too many games over a short period.

As for Black Ops 3. It’s going to either be Deus EX:COD edition or COD with augmentations thrown in. I think it may be time for the franchise to take a break as they may be running out of ideas.
