Jon Hare has cancelled the Sociable Soccer Kickstarter after it became clear the project was not going to reach the goal of £300,000. However, all is not lost and development of the game continues.
“Much more than that I cannot say at the moment, except that development is continuing at full tilt and when we get nearer to confirming how we will be bringing the game to market we will be sure to let you know,” explained Hare to Eurogamer.
A number of publishers are said to be interested in the game and 300K isn’t all that much to fund. Perhaps Sony or Microsoft have stepped in, or maybe indie darlings Team 17 have put in a bid. It might even be Deep Silver/Koch, they have had a habit of grabbing smaller indie games.
