Bloober has announced that it will be releasing its psychological horror title Layers Of Fear on PS4, with the release date confirmed as February 16th. The game’s story follows that of a painter who is losing their mind as they try to complete their masterpiece. As the descent into madness moves forward your surroundings can become unfamiliar as things in the environment keep shifting.
Layers Of Fear has been on Steam Early Access since August 2015, and has received a lot of praise from those who have played. A demo and a purchasable build are also available on the Xbox One too. Going by the prices on those two platforms PS4 users will likely be asked to pay around £10 to play Layers Of Fear.

Now, this looks freakin good – some more pure gameplay in the video would have been great, but with that atmosphere and the predicted pricetag, I think whether I’m getting this or not is a no-brainer

So glad the horror genre is coming back again. They’re the only games I buy on first day release anymore.

The horror genre went away? I would have said that it has had a pretty good showing on the ps4 so far tbh, what with;
SOMA
Outlast
The Evil Within
Until Dawn
Slender: The Arrival
Alien Isolation
Among the Sleep
Then you have a few that loosely fit the category as well like;
Dying Light
The Last of Us
The Order 1886
Those are just a few off the top of my head. There are probably loads that I have forgotten about, or due to come out soon as well.

I think it did slow down during the ps3 days but the genre is definitely trying new ways to scare us which is great. I have all of those games bar ‘among the sleep.
VR, if all goes well is going to kill me when it comes to horror games, but I can’t wait.
Still hoping for Silent Hills to come back…

Well, if you were interested in completing the list, I believe that Among the Sleep is actually reduced at the moment! :)
Silent Hills may indeed make a resurgence at some point in the future if the rumour & speculation is to be believed, but I don’t think it will be called Silent Hills anymore as I believe that Konami own the IP. No reason why a similar (or basically the same) game with a different name can’t be made though…

I really liked the trailer for the game they put out just after the ps4 launch! Hopefully this one has been tested thoroughly as it looks decent.
