Gemini: Heroes Reborn “Borrows” From Bioshock Infinite

Steve Bowler, lead designer on Gemini: Heroes Reborn, has revealed that they ‘borrowed’ some mechanics from Bioshock Infinite.

“Our Time Scout ability lets you peek through time so you can ‘look before you leap,'” explained Dave on a post on the US PlayStation Blog. “Infinite has this with Elizabeth’s Tears. However, hers happen at an explicit point in a level and the narrative. Ours is a game mechanic that you could use however and whenever you want, not a narrative plot point. For example, follow a guard who is walking in the Past while you’re in the Present in order to time your jump.”

Gemini: Heroes Reborn should be out today and is set in the same universe as the rebooted. but now cancelled, TV show.

  1. It wasn’t rebooted and cancelled. It was rebooted and “not rebooted again”. It was supposed to be an “event mini-series”, so technically not cancelled if that was never the plan in the first place. Although the plan could have been “see how it goes and then decide if it’s worth changing the plan”. Or possibly “make about twice as many episodes as we should, and hope people don’t notice it’s a bit of a mess and only mildly entertaining”.

But the game is going to be terrible, isn’t it?
