New Mass Effect: Andromeda Trailer Drops At EA Play

Taking to the stage at EA Play, Bioware took the opportunity to showcase brand new footage of the much anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda. Following humanity’s journey out of the Milky Way in search of a new home, it casts you as the alien, encountering remote and hostile planets as well as a number of new races and characters, all the while experiencing the most freedom the franchise has ever had.

It looks as though you’ll be taking that journey aboard the SSV Tempest, seemingly the same class as the iconic Normandy, and that the game will also feature the much requested return of a Mako-esque land vehicle.

The locations and animations certainly look very pretty indeed, and with the game utilising EA’s Frostbite engine you can be sure it’ll be a significant jump over the original trilogy. The trailer ends with a possible look at the central character, with a female spacefarer awakening to the discovery that “we made it”.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release in early 2017 and will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Personally I can’t wait.

  1. The locations do look pretty, can’t wait to return to the Mass Effect universe.

  2. I wish the Tempest looked more dissimilar to the Normandy, as it feels like similarity for familiarity’s sake.

Would have liked to see a lot more, but at least what they showed seems great.

  3. Looks good in the video.
I only got into Mass Effect when 3 was a PS+ game but really enjoyed it so I pre-ordered this ages ago.

  4. Can not wait for this. Im really hoping for a remaster of the first 3 games too.
