It appears the penny has finally dropped and the gaming community have worked out that All Walls Must Fall is, to quote Twitter, “strikingly gay”. Quite why it’s taken so long for people to notice that the game only has men in the nightclubs is a bit of a mystery, but perhaps that says more about gaming’s stereotypical macho, muscle bound heroes, rather than people not paying attention.
However, the latest Kickstarter goal has tongue firmly in cheek and reverses the idea of the gays being included in to games as token characters.
Discrimination is bad. But if you have ever tried to get into a club, you know it’s real. With this stretch goal we want to improve the diversity of our clubber character cast to reflect this. We’ll also make this a feature in conversations you’ll have with bouncers to get through the club doors. There will be a new mission and room too!
If you are wondering about the actual game, it’s an isometric tactical shooter, with hints of Syndicate and XCOM, but set in gay nightclubs in Berlin, which you must admit is a rather unique setting. The Kickstarter closes very shortly so if you want to back it, head over to their page.
