It seems a little petty to be reporting on a bit of cardboard that goes round a box but everyone at TSA Towers who has seen the image below has gone “Ooooh, nice, WANT!” The bit of cardboard in question is the one you will find wrapped around the WipEout Omega Collection if you buy it from either ShopTo or Base.

As you can see it closely resembles the packaging of the original WipEout from the PlayStation One era, complete with some fake wear to the packaging. Other retailers will be offering the steelbook edition.

ShopTo.net confirmed earlier on Twitter that if you order the Steelbook edition from them, you will also get the retro PS1 sleeve. No brainer! :)

That’s pretty good! I think Amazon might have just lost my preorder

The steel book edition is supposedly sold out.

It was sold out but they got more, I changed my pre-order to the steelbook yesterday.
Just checked and it’s not showing ‘sold out’ atm.

It seems it’s just me who hates this, everyone else is going mad for it. I hate sleeves and such things, I hate different cases to the normal clippy case and never buy steelbooks for this reason. They often don’t fit on the shelf and it’s an extra step to opening the box, remove the sleeve, then open the clippy box. Couldn’t they just have made the normal box look like the old-school one?

Looks pretty cool, but I’m gonna buy it digitally, save myself swapping discs around – plus the free pre-order dynamic theme looks good too.
Currently making a Spotify Prodigy playlist for it, then a full-on hard & fast Metallica list!

I’ve ordered mine from GAME, the steelbook AND 4 dynamic themes from there. The beta is great. I had to delete it to stop myself playing it so I wouldn’t be thinking I’d seen it all when the full game is released.

4 static themes, isn’t it? They look pretty cool though.

Just looked at their website and it doesn’t clarify static or dynamic. They do look really cool either way.
