Gran Turismo Sport Releases On 18th October

Gran Turismo fans are pretty familiar with waiting, but that wait is almost over. Almost a year after it was originally meant to launch, Gran Turismo Sport is releasing on 18th October in Europe and 17th October in the US, Sony have announced today. This follows the ending of the closed beta testing that has been running for the last few months, as Polyphony head into the final stages of polishing the game.

Expect to hear much more about what will be in the final game soon, from the single player campaign to creative tools and a reveal of all the cars and tracks.

There’s going to be six versions of the game to choose between, with the a Collector’s Edition, Steel Book Edition and Day 1 Edition at retail in addition to the Standard Edition. Digitally, there’s the Digital Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.

  1. Nice! Fingers crossed this doesn’t slip.

    • By Oct 2017, they mean Easter 2018, right?

  2. Never been less excited for a GT game to be honest. Everything looks too flat and clinical, and even the trailers haven’t been 1% as exciting as the trailers for GT5 & 6

  3. That’s a month earlier than I thought it would be.

    Really enjoyed the beta.

  4. I believe it when I see it. ;o)
Can’t really be better than Driveclub, so I’m not overly excited.

  5. Past caring. Something for the Monday meet, but I doubt there’s a racing game in there anywhere. Lots of single events with bad AI, a 4K Adobe Photoshop, and the usual physics.

I was intrigued by Sport mode, but it seems to favour the elite exploiters just like previous games. Ridiculous amounts of engine braking, and out of proportion setups. Happy to be proven wrong, but PCars 2 and Forza 7 will get my money and focus. Hard to switch between them and GT.

  6. The beta has been great, but it’s worn GT out a bit, they robably should’ve stopped it after a month. This GT doesn’t have the impact I’m after, it feels half way between a prologue and a number. I’ll pick it up at some point but I don’t feel compelled to preorder.

  7. Six versions to choose from? It’ll likely be the basic hard copy for me if I do go there….doesn’t have the pull for me anymore after 5, albeit a classic in time!

  8. Looking forward to some 4K GT :)

  9. At what point did Sony or polyphonic pin down a date of over a year ago? Please link..

  10. I’ll undoubtedly buy this as a GT fan since the very beginning but truth be told if not for the franchise’s storied history and PlayStation exclusivity I’m not sure how relevant the racer would be anymore. I’m still excited for it but perhaps an overhaul is needed…
