Keyboard And Mouse Support Appears To Be On The Way For Xbox One

Microsoft Poland seems to have let the cat out of the bag and essentially confirmed that the Xbox One will support mouse and keyboard input soon. When exactly we’re not sure but according to a post on the site it can’t be far off. Maybe it will be a Christmas present from Microsoft, or among the first updates in 2018. The page that confirms this has been removed, but a translation of the text purports it translating as the following.

Some players prefer to conquer the virtual world with a pad in hand. Others, above all, value the precision of the mouse movements. Others, however, can not imagine playing on anything other than a keyboard. Now, owners of Xbox One consoles (including Xbox One S models and the latest Xbox One X) can choose these accessories and decide for themselves what they will use. “PC Master Race”? Thanks to the keyboard support, we can already successfully talk about “Xbox Master Race”!”

Now not sure why Microsoft would be trying to embrace the PC Master Race meme into their branding for the Xbox, so I can see that disappearing pronto but the rest of it could be legit. We’ll see soon I guess.

  1. Wasn’t this idea floated last generation? I suppose now for stuff like Minecraft it’ll be great, but being allowed to use a mouse against a controller toting player in a shooter is never gonna go down well.

    • I like the way Sony did it (4 years back now), they even had games that sorted KB/mouse players from controller players.

    • Yeah not a good idea in my opinion. Yet another reason not to use my xbox one as a games console, not that i have played anything on it in a good 12 months mind.
