Currently Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is exclusive to Nintendo Switch but ININ Games and Taito and have announced that it will be coming to PlayStation 4 at the end of the year as both a digital release and a boxed game.
The game will be “greatly expanded with exciting new content (new stages and game modes)” and those will also be released on Switch as a game update. These include Baron von Blubba, the big bad from the original game who was missing from the Switch version.
Now you are probably aware that Bubble Bobble is one of my all time favourite games, I have it on PlayStation 4 and it gets played regularly. It may look like a simple platformer but there are loads of secret levels and bonus stages to find and the gameplay is nigh on perfect. Fiddling with it is sacrilege as far as I am concerned and Bubble Bobble 4 Friends adds all sorts of new things like the ability to crouch and boss battles, expect an extremely thorough review when it does launch on PS4!
You can also enter a competition to get your fan art in the game, see below for details.
To celebrate the upcoming release of the PlayStation®️4 version, Taito and ININ Games are holding a fan art contest that is open to all Bubble Bobble fans!
