Something for the Weekend – 26/07/25

Battlefield 6 header keyart - 4 soldiers overlooking New York

Whatever do you mean that I forgot to do the round up yesterday? Yesterday was definitely Friday and I’m certainly not putting this together on Sunday morning. Absolutely not.

In the News This Week

Enough about that, let’s see what’s in the news this week, where we had a lot of delays and a fresh gaming controversy to deal with.

Games in Review & Featured Articles

Let’s start with the reviews with yet another indie horror treat heading up the week:

We also had some hardware in review as well:

We’re not far from the start of the new football season – of course, there’s also that Euros final this weekend! – and with that, Aran went hands on with EA Sports FC 26 to see how EA has adapted to player feedback. In a similar vein, Gamoc has been having a more enjoyable time replaying The Last of Us Part 2 with its new chronological mode.

I dug into some racing games this week, putting on a VR headset to enjoy Le Mans Ultimate to its fullest with its v1.0 release, and previewing the second year of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.

And with everything that’s going on with payments and laws coming into effect, Aran welcomed us all to the new Internet.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Le Mans Ultimate, Wildgate & Monster Train 2.

  1. Congratulations to the Euro 2025 winners..! It was an excellent tournament, which happened to take place in my home country, but as I missed out getting hold of tickets, I watched a lot of matches on TV.
