Sony have revealed a remaster of the original Deus Ex game and it’s coming to PS5 – no PS4 version – on February 5th 2026. The game has been made via a collaboration of Aspyr and Eidos-Montréal, “The mission: preserve the truth, modernize the tools, and prepare a new generation of agents for what lies ahead.”
“Deus Ex has always been about freedom. When the original title first launched, it redefined what a video game could be, melding RPG elements, action and stealth gameplay, and branching player choices into a cyberpunk immersive sim like nobody else had ever tried,” explains Brett Elston, Director, Content Communication for Sony.
“Storm through the front door, hack the security grid, slip past enemies with invisibility cloaks, or talk your way through impossible odds. Every mission, every level, and every outcome adapts to your choices.”
“This remaster isn’t just a visual upgrade, but a preservation of Deus Ex’s DNA – carefully modernized without sacrificing the conspiratorial paranoia that made the original game so iconic,” he adds. “Each location has been overhauled with new lighting, dynamic shadows, particle systems, and upscaled textures.”
The control scheme has been modernised and draws inspiration from in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, so we are talking about radial menus and that sort of thing.
