Hustle Kings Gets Move and 3D Updates

You may have heard that pool game Hustle Kings will be getting Move support. But what about balls flying out of your screen at you as well? Yep, confirmed on the official US PS blog, the Voofoo Studios’ billards game is also going 3D.

Check out this video for some footage of the Move controller in action with the game. Yes, it does appear virtual pool looks remarkably like virtual “stabbing someone with a large pole”.

The updates will be available this week (in the US, EU TBC). Further along the line you can expect the following DLC for the game.

  • Carom & U.K. Billiards Pack
  • Ball & Cue Pack
  • Trickshot Pack

  1. When I watched the video I wondered if this is notjust going to make the game harder, with a cue you at least have two hands steadying the action.

    • I know I’d just embarrass myself.

  2. Got this ages ago and never really played it. Then randomly me and my brother had 16 frames of Snooker on there over the weekend. We both really enjoyed it but kinda ran out of steam towards the end. First couple of frames take you a while to get into, but i knocked in a few 50 breaks, highest being a frustratingly close 85. My question is, how will move work with it? Will the motion just be for shot power/cueing, or will you aim with it too? Will your cue action get you good or bad accuracy depending how well you play the shot? Will there be a Snooker cue attachment, because obviously the move controller is a little short and will make cueing kinda difficult. Actually, that was a few questions wasn’t it?

    • You’re right, lining up the cue could be tricky with the length of the Move and i wouldn’t see myself buying any attachments so perhaps we won’t see snooker implemented with Move in the same way as golf or tennis.

      • attachments are going to be tricky for this as the ord at the end is used for tracking and so you cannot easily connect anything to the front so racquets and cues will be hard to do.

  3. Oh i see – they’ve just used Move to replace the existing Hustle Kings DS3 controls rather than a proper simulation of the way you would actually use a cue. Not quite what i was expecting but not completely surprising given that they would probably have to build the game again from scratch to include more realistic gameplay with the Move – and then again maybe this is the best solution but it would be cool if you could control power, spin and direction with one gesture of the Move.

  4. It comes half price with the Plus content of next month. Might get it then.

  5. Maybe an attachment will be released to connect on the Move.

  6. Those are some SHINY balls.

Sorry, spaced out there for a second.

  7. last time i played Planet Minigolf i got a Move update too

  8. Didn’t realise that this game included snooker!! It also looked from the video that the move is used for power, but still looks like you’re playing manhunt 2 :oD
If its cheap on plus next month I might just indulge myself!

    • Snooker is paid DLC £2.39 if I remember right…

  9. Ooooh sold, could do with another 3D game

  10. Is this a really solid game? I’ve got a lot of PSN games but was never quite sold on this one way or another.

    • Its one of the top five PSN games ive ever bought , worth every penny and beautiful too. It now has Voice Support , Ps Eye support , Move Support , Online , Local Multiplayer , Single Player , Trickshots , Snooker and every variation and gametype of Pool known to man .

      • Wow! Very cool. Next time I’m online I’ll grab it and the corresponding DLC.
        Many thanks Squire willy. :)

      • The physics take a bit of getting used to. They say that the physics in this are extremely real life, but i have to disagree somewhat. Some things just don’t happen in real life that happen in this. For example, you line up a pint at full power so you get the full aiming line, then reduce the power to the power you want the shot, and that somehow changes the angle of where the balls are going to go after collision, which is not how it works in real life. Also a few times, i’ve potted the ball in the middle of the bag and it’s jumped out of the back and off the table. I’m talking about Snooker only here, but that’s a load of nonsense and completely irritating. It never happens in real life, so shouldn’t here either.
