I think a good deal of us have heard of Nintendo’s ‘Virtual Boy’. Whilst it was way ahead of the curve, this personal console/TV system flopped drastically – probably not helped by the fact it gave users headaches. Fast forward to 2011 and Sony has unveiled an amazing new 3D display headset prototype.
Making you look like an even more futuristic Geordi LaForge, this amazing little display is worn like a visor, contains a screen for each eye, and has inbuilt headphones. Please Sony, bring this to market – I want to play Uncharted 3 on it!

it’ll be cheaper than a 40″ 3D tv though. and, if optimised for the PS3, will be even better for gaming

I have to admit you are pretty much spot on with the fact that the reason this would sell well is timing. With 3D being improved, Gaming being the biggest form of entertainment out there, this could really work if MARKETED and ADVERTISED properly. Word of Mouth is good but the ‘grannies’ wont buy it if they dont know it exists hahaha

looks and sounds pretty cool. I for one am interested, but is 3D going to be hear in a few years time? I personally think that there still isn’t much grabbing me to buy a 3d TV still, other than for gaming, even then, there isn’t much going on yet.
