THQ has confirmed that Red Faction spin-off Battlegrounds will be hitting the PSN and Live early next month. The game is an arena based vehicular combat affair, which supports up to four player co-op and reminds me of a futuristic version of the classic Vigilante 8.
Volition studio manager, Eric Barker, had the following to say:
“If Armageddon is a big meal, Battlegrounds is a quick, little snack. It’s fun. You’re just going to blow each other up and go crazy. It’s a blast.”
Well, we do like blowing stuff up!

I loved Vigilante 8 I got it on Xbox 360 download had a blast and brings memories.
Think I’ll download a trial before purchasing.
