Argos Jump Into Price War

Fri, Nov 21, 2008 at 12:52 pm

News

Earlier this week I reported that Gamestation were having a sale. Well now Argos are at it too and they have some better games in their’s.

Highlights are LittleBigPlanet for £28.99 and Midnight Club: LA for only £24.99!

Looks like the global economic crisis might just mean I can pick up some of those games on the periphery of my “want list”. Hurrah for greedy banks!

Annoyingly I’ve already played Midnight club, and already own LBP, Argos are too late or this guy.

You’ve played it but didn’t want to own it? For £24.99 you could play it again and again. I only bought Burnout last night so it might be a bit soon for another street racer…

I can’t even see them being loss-leaders because argos isn’t that kind of retailer.

    That’s a crazy price for a two-week-old game that’s actually pretty good.

Anyone else noticed how similar the Saints Row 2 and Mercenaries 2 boxart is?

    colossalblue Says:

No I hadn’t but then the mercenaries boxart is usually different to the picture on argos isn’t it? I thought it was that guys face close up with the blonde hair.

Does anyone know if these offers are available in store? Cos i could just pop down to argos and get LBP, saves on delivery time

    Rating: 0.0/5 (0 votes cast)

    colossalblue Says:

As far as i know they are company-wide so in store or on the internet the price will be the same.

If I was you I’d run though, LBP should sell out pretty quickly at that price.

Still not sure whether to buy Burnout. Played the demo and wasn’t overly crazy about it. Would owners recommend? Whats the cheapest price anyones found?

    Rating: 0.0/5 (0 votes cast)

    colossalblue Says:

HMV have it for £25 PSN have it for £24.99.

If you didn’t like the demo then it’s probably not worth buying, I always liked the way the demo felt fast, the full game is the same but huge and with loads of cars and a few bikes.

Cheers, I may get it. You know, a wee Christmas gift.

Burnout demo was annoying due to voiceover/training & thoroughly put me off.
    BUT
Then I bought it, and it totally rocks.
    Add me! :)
