Massive Sales

Stricken retailer slashes all prices in the run-up to the festive splurge.

Woolworths have gone/are going down the pan. That’s not a good thing if you work for them, there’s a chance you could lose your job. That would be sad, I feel for you.

Still, Deloitte (the administrators) have announced the start of Woolworths “biggest ever sale” tomorrow where everything will be reduced by up to 50%. Not all bad then.

All entertainment products will be reduced although they don’t say by how much. Could be perfect for those Xmas Blu-Rays or crafty games purchases to keep you going until Santa empties his sack all over your living room floor.

It might even lead to a high street price war. Which is nice.

Happy shopping.

  1. Bagains galore then Cb. Pity I’m at work all day or it would have been worth a quick trip to the local woolies. I’ll have to wait till Saturday to see what the hungry pack have left!

  2. Sweet. I’ll probably be seeing people fighting in my local Woolworths then

  3. To Woolworths… tomorrow… hmmmm, might have to go into that overdraft of mine, 10p MIGHT NOT cut it.

    • Similar boat mate

      • I just realised how strange that comment is, yet it makes sense…

  4. Even 50% off woolies normal price of games isn’t that cheap to be honest, hence there problems really

  5. Whoo , “well-worth-it” ! :)
    Gonna go in tomorrow if it’s not mobbed with middle-aged gippo’s , fighting over £ 3 kettles and bin-bag sized pick’n'mix’s ! And that’ll be Christmas sorted !!! :)

  6. Woolies normally sell games at around £40 a pop. So if you can get up to 50% then 20 sheets ain’t that bad, eh?

  7. I really doubt that it’ll be 50% discount on games, probably closer to 25%
Still gotta be worth a look though hasn’t it?

  8. Would be handy if someone goes in to alert us all on what kinda savings are there….. HINT HINT!!!

    • It would be handy. It will also be well annoying to be stuck at work and hear about all the bargains we’re missing out on! I wonder if they’ll have half price PS3’s too?

    • Jeez, shall we just do everything for you?
With GamerRiley not dicking around in the forum tomorrow afternoon I might, MIGHT, take a trip to woolies and see what the story is but I’m not promising anything.
      Lazy shower of…

      • Cool, get us all something nice ;-)

    • Why not just read the source of the article for the discounts?

      Here you are –

“Highlights of the Sale will include up to 50 per cent off Toys, 30 per cent off Christmas trees and decorations, 50 per cent off all greeting cards, 20 per cent off personal gifts and reductions on all entertainment products.”

  9. £150 PS3’s? Never…

  10. This.

  11. Im gutted we don’t even have a Woolies…

  12. In Glasgow its 10% off all games and game related products.
So you are better off buying them elsewhere.

  13. 10% off entertainment is right. Check me out, live blogging via iPhone from woolworth!

  14. Just got back from my own Woolies. !0% off still makes them dearer than lots of places, but they did have the original Die Had on DVD for £2.70

  15. 10% off isn’t that great…
in GAME stuff like Smackdown ‘09 is 19.99, and Tomb Raider limited edition is only 24 quid

If you like your walking simulators then Fallout 3 special edition (with figurine) is only 27.39

    • Game is a few doors down in the same shopping centre, that Tomb Raider offer is seriously tempting but after the whole “artificial review scores” that Eidos pulled with it I’m pained to give them my money.

      • yeah, same here
there are a few pre-owned TR: U’s being traded in as it’s part of a PS3 bundle and some people always trade the bundled games in

This means they’re still sealed, never used and Eidos won’t be getting a penny of your money
