Mark this as a rumour just now but we’ve got a sneaky feeling that Sony might just have a trick up their sleeve with today’s PSN Store: the PSP versions of Grand Theft Auto.
To combat any hype around the exclusive DLC for the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV, we reckon the PSN Store will feature the brilliant ‘Stories’ versions of GTA III and Vice City for download. Both are brilliant games, well worth investigating, and would make perfect sense.
Update: yup, seems like SCEE and TSA think alike – apparently there was a promo email that went out yesterday. Both games are marked as definites.
Update 2: well, it obviously didn’t make it for today’s update, let’s hope they’re out next week.

Awesome. If I had a PSP *hint for birthday* then I’d get this!

Ah, another solid addition to the PSN. Now let’s focus on getting RE2 on there.

I thought this meant for PS3 play. That would have been amazing.

Already got them. But it’s a nice option for those who don’t.
Having them playable on the PS3 too though would have been amazing!

how is this in anyway comparable to the gta4 dlc?!
“you may have new gta 4 content my xbox loving friend but ive got a ps3 and should i wish to i could buy a few of the old gta games at a vastly inflated price which i can only play on a psp. which i dont have. put that in your pipe and smoke it.”

Thrillhouse, tis not about 360 extra exclusive content. The fact you are playing a ps3 and they’re playing a time bomb (360) is reason to be happy. Gta 4 dlc vs killzone 2? 3-4 hours vs months? New gta games on PSN that didn’t cost 50mil to secure is testament that developers won’t drop support to get in bed with the fatter wallet. Bravo rockstar!

i completly understand. my xbox loving friend has actually just bought a ps3 after taking the piss for the past 2 years. i just struggle to see old gta games on the psp as being worthy of anything more then a shrug of the shoulders. “a trick up their sleeve” O_o

I already own Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories on PS2 (that’s right, they’ve both been ported), and they’re pretty good. Not as good as III or Vice City, but good enough for GTA games.

I own both of them, and in my opinion they are 2 of the best games available for the PSP. If they make it to the store, they are definately worth a download!
