LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Batman all had commercial success, but where next for developer Traveller’s Tales? Well, Harry Potter of course!

JK Rowling’s fantasy novel-come-blockbuster film series has already been turned into a number of different computer games, but now it is Potter’s turn to get the LEGO treatment. The game will of course by developed by Traveller’s Tales and their managing director, Tom Stone, is “looking forward to bringing gamers a new way of interacting in the universe with the LEGO games’ great humour and exploration.”

As usual with a LEGO game, it will take inspiration, the characters and all the best bits of the original films, but with a cutesy LEGO look and feel. Players will be able to explore Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest as well as casting spells and attending lessons (which are hopefully more exciting that real life lessons!) The game, if you haven’t already guessed from the title, will cover events from the first 4 books and films.

It is a busy time recently for TT Games, with LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues also on the way. But has the novelty value of a LEGO game worn off? LEGO Indiana Jones 2 will hit the shelves sometime before Christmas, while Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will be available in 2010. Both will be on all major formats including the PS3. Don’t forget to check TSA as soon as more details surface.
