Metal Gear Online isn’t something I’ve been following much, so this might not be news at all (and my Japanese is terrible) but according to Famitsu Metal Gear Online will see Old Snake returning to the fore, alongside everyone’s favourite Metal Gear Solid environment: Shadow Moses. Except Famitsu (and Konami) are calling it “Icebound Inferno”, despite the screens clearly showing bits we remember from the original MGS. This then, we assume, makes up one day’s worth of news in the Week of Metal Gear Solid. The expansion pack will be available this week if you’ve already bought SCENE – I assume all that makes sense to someone.

I’m not one to purchase the MGO packs but I do have the first one.
I have been hoping for a while that they would release some sort of “Shadow Moses Map Pack”. yay!

Made sense to me.
I haven’t played MGO since the first time I got MGS4 on release day. I’ve been on it since, but never got to the part where you actually play. The version upgrades can take hours.

I didn’t even get as far as playing it. I clicked on the menu item once, downloaded about 2 gigs of updates got frustrated with the registration process an gave up.

Lots of link selling going on here. You need to have the GENE expansion for the bikinis and now the SCENE expansion for Shadow Moses map. Guess not enough people, in Konami’s eyes, have been picking up the expansions.

I deleted the MGS4 data from my hard drive and I really can not be bothered downloading all the online updates again.

Me neither, it didnt seem to gel with me.. It all seemed a bit, ‘underpowered..’ I dont know if the full version was much different from the beta, but the beta was enough for me.

There’s a guy on my friend list who literally just goes on MGS4 – I can only assume he’s playing MGO, so at least someone is still playing it. lol

MGO was ruined by konami not using the ps system e.g normal updates (not stupid 12 hour (over exageration) ones and use the ps store.

No it wasn’t!? If people are too stupid to just not tick a button that says “Remember my password and ID” then thats their fault. All
server problems are fixed and lag is a very rare occurence.
Stop using old problems to disrepute a game that has done lots to improve itself. Not all games have been patched as constantly so I say well done to Konami.

If they add the trophies they I might actually repurchase this game. It’s shallow I know but I’d need a decent reason to go back and complete it again (for the 4th time).
I found MGO to not be too bad but it was easily beaten in online terms by COD4 and now Killzone 2 plus I can see Uncharted 2 beating it for 3rd person online shooting in the future.
