A fitting end to a crazy day on the PlayStation Store, then.

Sony’s 12 for ’12 Sale Hits The US PSN 21

Today, like it can be on a Thursday, has been comparatively relentless.  First we had a relatively poor European Store update, compounded by two brand new games appearing on the Japanese Store that we were expecting over here, followed by all hell breaking loose in the comments over on the EU Blog, which we covered here.  We were fairly sure, amidst all this, that somebody, somewhere would get Metal Gear Solid, and as the American Store has just updated with the answer, we thought we’d round off this day with one last post on the matter.

Yes, 780MB of pure stealthy goodness has just landed on the US Store, fair enough, but then the price – $9.99 – fits nicely with that of Final Fantasy VII, which we’ve already discussed on the site.  Sony, it seems, thinks that some PlayStation titles are simply worth more than others, and Solid Snake’s first 3D outing clearly warrants the same amount of cash as Cloud and Co demanded at the door of their Store début.  A tricky subject, because obviously both the titles mentioned are stellar games and certainly worthy of the cash, but is this a dangerous precedent to set?

Regardless, it’s been a funny old day.  I’ll tell you more soon…
