The Games Industry has spoken, well some of it. Critics from the likes of The Official PlayStation Magazine, GameTrailers and, yes, USA Today have all had a big vote and decided that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was the best game of E3 2009 – like some ridiculously fluffy spaniel, Naughty Dog’s third person explore-em-up will now be on everyone’s radar. Shame the multiplayer beta is a bit naff, but there’s still time.

Project Natal best hardware? The PS3 wand was far more impressive!
Left 4 Dead 2 best online multiplayer? Erm MAG? FFXV? Modern Warfare 2? Left 4 Dead 2 is worthy of “best rip-off”.
The games industry has spoken when it should
have flushed such crap down the loo!
Uncharted is a good choice, as is Mass Effect 2. But the rest (IMO) is questionable.

You’re right though, in what way is L4D2 a better shout than MAG or FFXIV.

because left for dead requires the whole team to work together constantly and efficiently or you simple die. its also meant to be incredible fun. Plus its a original franchise because there aren’t any other games that require a small squad to fight hordes of zombies and the game works very well MAG does need the players to work together but it is basically a big COD with the stalkers graphics. nothing new about it. and no body saw FFXIV it was just a pre rendered trailer.

Best Racing Game – Split/Second. Interesting.. I like the look of this game and to be given this award when shown next to GTAPSP, GT5 and Forza 3 (whatever that is ;P ), is a good sign indeed.

Really? I thought it was fully unoriginal, with average graphic and old boring control. Really disapointed with GOWIII.
But I haven’t played it. I’ll give it a chance cause I really liked the first one.

Uncharted 2 deserves it’s place, the first game was great and the second adventure looks outstanding. I would to be able to play the BETA multiplayer though to see what everyone is talking about.

natel looked great to non-geeks.
the more tech savvy among us knew that it didnt quite look right. i had the same feelings when i first saw the wii controller…i appriciated what it was trying to do but the lack of accuracy and delay instantly stuck a duff chord with me.
the wand blew me away and got my mind spinning with other possible uses.
the wand demo looked too raw and unrefined to appeal to average show. not glitzy enough.

I agree, the Natal and Milo playthroughs looked kind of scripted, whereas with the wands they had it there to show first hand rather than clips, it just so happened that it was a bit WIP looking.
L4D2 best multiplayer? Bullshit. Should be MAG or FFXIV or possibly APB, it looks great fun.
FNR4 best sports game? Bullshit. Should be …… anything else, it’s terrible if it’s anything to go by in the demo (IMO)

The same can be said of the ps3 “wand” which is why both weren’t even shortlisted

the wand looked crap and rushed they couldn’t even hit anything with it. Half the demo was the guy missing tennis balls with a stupid sword.

Uncharted is possibly my favourite game of all time, this one really does look perfect to me. A bigger, more cinematic story with the classic humour and ofcourse, you’ve got co-op and the online.
You may say their naff, but I wana have a go first before I make up my mind
shame i wont until it comes out! But co-op should be good and if the online isn’t, it doesn’t matter, who buys Uncharted for the online??
Anyway glad it won something in the generally pro-xbox press. I am surprised about the lack of God of War 3 but hey, Uncharted 2

I really wish Bayonetta would have gotten more nods. Same thing with GT PSP, if you havent seen that in motion you should really check it out, as it puts Ridge Racer to shame. It is tough to argue with Scribblenauts though…
