Activision have today confirmed two dozen of the tracks which will be featured on Guitar Hero 5’s rather epic 85-song on-disc set list. Ranging from Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower” to Coldplay’s “In My Place”, Activision are claiming that the game features the “widest variety of today’s rock hits and classic tunes”. Numerous bands are also making their music video game debut – Band of Horses, Darkest Hour, Elliott Smith, John Mellencamp, Rose Hill Drive, The Bronx, Tom Petty and Vampire Weekend. The game ships at the beginning of September.

That is, frankly, shit.
Rock Band actually have a more decent collection. I think they need to do a regional split, like Singstar, because a lot of the GH stuff is really US-centric bollocks.

VERY average so far, with 2 belters – Sex on Fire and Lust for Life…
But I guess there is gonna come a point where all the best songs/artists are taken, surely!!?

I love GH but that is a very poor list. I have been playing 3 and Aerosmith a lot lately and they both have way better songs than this (even if you ignore the obvious Aerosmith ones!)

This is a step in the right direction with the Kings of Leon, Bob Dylan’s “All along the Watchtower”, Iggy Pop and Blur Song 2.
Hopefully this will be much better
Agree with Djbustb, glad they have branched out a bit and including all sorts of musical tastes because generally they seem to aim these games at hard rock or punk rock fans, I would gldaly take a Britney Spears song or two if it meant I could have more Oasis, Kings of Leon, Kasabian etc..

New wolfmother and a queens of the stone age song thats actually good. its a step in the right direction but instead of spending a couple hundred on the new game and instruments i think i’ll buy that danelectro guitar i’ve had my eye on and just learn the songs
