Don’t say that we never give you anything here at TSA, right now we’re having a two-for-one special on news. That’s right in a one-time offer (note: may not be one-time) TSA is pleased to offer you two pieces of news in one easy-to-read package.

German site GameFront today broke news on Microsoft’s press conference at the Cologne GamesCom, reporting a few details. Stacked up against Sony’s three hour behemoth that was confirmed some time ago, the one-hour conference that Microsoft are offering seems a little meagre, although I still have high hopes. The event is scheduled for 10am (9am BST) on the 19th of August, the first date of the conference which runs until the 23rd.

But wait, there’s more! The conference itself will feature the infamous head of Lionhead, Peter Molyneux. As the relatively newly appointed Creative Director of the European arm of Microsoft Game Studios his presence at the conference makes a lot of sense, and it perhaps justifies the decision to keep the conference down to one hour. God only knows what Molyneux would promise if he was left to his own devices for much longer. It seems that he’ll already be promising something as GameFront are reporting that he’ll be making some sort of Lionhead-related announcement.

At present this is only being confirmed by GameFront, although over sites are picking up on it. We’ll make sure we keep you updated as more information becomes available.
