Just a sprinkling of news about Square Enix’s new MMO for the PS3 and PC. This comes from the Official PlayStation Magazine’s Twitter feed as they’re cruising the floor of Gamescom.
Just interviewed FFXIV men too. Global release next year. 30 day subs planned, but no word on price. It´s playable on the show floor too!
So, there you have it. A global Final Fantasy release? I’m sure that’s a first. Not too sure how the subscription will go down with the console clan. I guess we’ll just have to wait for that all important price.
One thing that strikes me is that it could be out close to the time of FFXIII. In which case, damn Squareenix, take a break. Hopefully we’ll manage to catch a glimpse of it before the shows over.
Keep it locked here on TheSixthAxis for more Gamescom News all this week.

Bad news for you(and me!) my friend, I heard that PE3 for PSP is no more, it is a cellphone exclusive now.
I was already disappointed that they never released any PE in the PS2, now this… yeah, what you say we have a little talk with Squenix, make they know what the good franchises are and in wich plataforms make them to! (PS3 :~~~)

It started off as a mobile exclusive and was then canned in favour of the psp. Sounds strange to reverse what they’d already done.

Oh well, looks like my source was misleading, the gamefaqs site indeed says the MOBILE version has been canned, but the PSP still TBA 2009.
I really wanted a PS3 version, sequel to PE2
That game was a revolution for me, amazing gameplay (similar to RE3 and Dino Crisis 2, but improved, that magic system was awesome), the best CG I had seen so far, and true terror, that scene with the mutant horses in the beginning of disc 2 was incredible! Ahh good times..

I was fairly interested in this (it is Final Fantasy after all), but there’s no way I’ll be getting it if you have to pay monthly.

Worldwide release, ~mind blown~
Oh man, I never payed for an MMO in my life, in fact I don’t even like MMOs, just played Monster Hunter in the PS2, and was free. In the times of FFXI I didn’t even have the means and knowledge to play it (means: money, knowledge: how to bring FFXI to Brazil and using whatever needed to pay subs, lol)
Well, there’s always a first time, and that may just be that time (depending on the price).
Anyone in the same boat?

Well it can’t be worse than the mind numbing grindfest that is 11.Grinding is fine in a game with other distractions but everything in 11 is hard work unless you buy gil and have friends with no lives.14 is actually supposed to have an engaging story which will be a first for an mmo.Having read all the stuff on the 14 official site i’m looking forward to this.Should of kept the old taru model though.
