Sony has just announced their plans for people wishing to upgrade their existing PSP 1000, 2000 or 3000 consoles to a Go. We’ve heard rumours along these lines for just over a week now, but thankfully it’s a little more interesting than we’d first imagined. To kick off the “PSPgo Reward” simply connect your new PSPgo to the PSN once you get it, and then log back into the Network with your ‘old’ PSP, and from there you’ll be able to download a special theme just like you do with the download for Gran Turismo PSP.

Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to select three games from a list of seventeen that includes, according to Eurogamer, Killzone: Liberation, SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3, WipEout Pure, Everybody’s Golf, echochrome, Buzz!: Brain Bender, Buzz!: Master Quiz, LocoRoco and Patapon. The Rewards program will run from the 1st of October until the 31st of March 2010 – sounds great, but then we’re also assuming this has put a spot to the other rumours regarding converting existing UMDs into digital downloads…
