You’ll remember back in September we said that, as far as we knew, cross game chat had been intended to be one of the main bulletpoints in the PS3′s Firmware 3.00 update but for whatever reason didn’t quite make it out, with the much requested XMB-based communication tool pushed back for 3.10. Well, today one of the Naughty Dog team appears to have confirmed what we’d heard, albeit rather briefly.

The post on the official PlayStation forums has been removed, but the team member who apparently is part of the team responsible for Uncharted 2 said, in reference to dead players speaking to each other, that “the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat.” Clear as day, then. “So if players use that instead of in game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions.”

Or sneakily inform the opposite team of their tactics – ooh, see, cross game chat can be bad.
