If you were eagerly awaiting the PSP version of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, subtitled Bloodlines, don’t buy it on the PSP Store – at least not yet. I can’t check for myself but we’ve had word in this morning that the digital download version doesn’t work – it crashes as the point where the UMD version asks to install – on any PSP. I don’t know why or whether Sony are even aware of the issue as of now, but the game is still available to download from the Store priced at £23.99 at the time of going to press.
I’ll fire off an email to Ubisoft this morning and see if we can’t get this resolved with some kind of patch for anyone that’s already splashed the cash.
Update: Ubisoft have let me know that they’re aware of the problem and are working hard with SCEE to get it fixed.
Thanks, Mick939.

Yeah I bought it last night and it isn’t booting. The creed symbol starts spinning in the corner and then the psp just crashes.

I got this last night and I must say I’m quite annoyed. Little little big planet is great though!! I really do hope this gets resolved asap coz it’s not really fair for people to go and spend the money and not get the service!!

I just had an absolutely disgusting call with Ubisoft customer support. The person at the other end didn’t have a clue about anything. She didn’t know that the product existed until putting me on hold and then coming back. According to the clueless support the game shouldn’t be released online yet. Which is crazy considering the PSP GO is a download only product. She went on to to ask if I have the gold pack for my online service. Then she thought I downloaded it illegally. So after all this I asked to speak with a manager and she basically point blank refused, stating that managers don’t talk to lowly customers (ok I am adding the lowly). Atleastmy call to sony was alot more productive. They just suggested downloading again but I still have problems contacting them again.
Needless to say Ubisoft will be receiving a long complaint lemail from me.

Sorry, I got feedback back from Ubisoft on this report, but I’m not sure it’s intended to be public. Let’s just say that their PR department knows about this, and are working hard, with SCEE, to get it fixed.

Oh well, I’m sure I’ll be busy playing the PS3 version for a while, so hopefully when I’m ready to get this, they’ll have sorted the problem!!

I agree with this if play.com got to me for release date. I am intrested in the connection between them and what it unlocks.
