Borderlands DLC Gets Disked

Article written by Gamoc in PS3, PS3 News, Xbox 360, Xbox 360 News, on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 12:00.

Robert Bowling, that’s ‘Important Man at Infinity Ward’ to you, has said on his Twitter than Modern Warfare 2 will be getting its first DLC in Spring. Granted, we’ve heard this before – well, we’ve read it off of the packaging from energy drinks – but it’s nice to see it directly from Important Man at Infinity Ward. The tweet is as follows.

DLC is planned fir the wonderfully vauge timeframe of Spring. I’ll let you know when we know when it’ll be done.

Uh, well, that’s it. What did you expect? Twitter has a 140 character limit. Granted, it doesn’t have a typo quota to meet, but that isn’t the point.

Apparently, it’s possible that the DLC will involve some thermo-nuclear war, be lightly toasted and covered in jam. No wait, ignore those last bits, but it may well be global thermo-nuclear war, which will involve nukes. Obviously.

  1. 1ST!!!

    • Dude…

      • wow, I didn’t know people even did that anymore. that is SO cool.

    • They dont…Its only me :P
Btw, i’ve yet to buy MW2…i know, i know…but i just got GOW-collection today (despite the fact that i’m in Greece!! – I’m going to say that for ever!) so i’ll stick with it for some time.. :D

      • I wouldnt worry too much about rushing to get MW2 anyway, its good but very overrated and you certainly have the better product in your poccession :)
No game thats only approx 5 hours long is worth 45 quid in my opinion…

      • Don’t worry GOW collection will give you plenty of enjoyment.

      • 5 hours long is a very glib way of looking at it. It has replay value plus there is special ops and, of course, multiplayer and the last of those is where the game really shines. If you have no interest in online play then maybe avoid it, but otherwise this is the best online FPS around, bar none.

      • But remember, not everyone who buys it will have access/play it online.

      • @3shirts – i think thats y i haven’t got it yet…i cant justify 5/6 hours of a gaming for £45. im not into online play, as you have to pour soooo much time in to keep up with all the nerds who do noting but play MW2. I just strugle match after match, no fun IMO. Single player is where its at for me. Ill rent it next week from Blockbusters for the week and finish it for a fiver. it would be a waste if i bought it sadly.

      • the multiplayer certainly is good but, as bajere quite rightly said, unless you play it constantly online you get left behind very quickly. spec ops on the other hand is very fun I must admit and probably the best aspect of the game really :)

      • Its the best console online experience bar one .  That being Battlefield Bad Company 2 .

      • Greece im sure he means he is in Grease the musical

    • Oh dear, oh dear.

      • Seriously Eldave0…if you play MW2 on Veteran difficulty its no way 5 hours long!!
Ive been playing for bout 7 hours and am about 2 thirds through i think. Either you’ve got it set too easy or your amazingly good!

  2. Damigos, quit with those comments mate. It’s not funny and TSA don’t like it. Good news on the DLC though. Probably wont bother with it as I have been stung way too many times with DLC.

    • Totally agree, i find that everyone plays the DLC for about 2 weeks and from then on everyone goes back to the original maps and game modes never to play the DLC ever again

      • Yep, thats exactly what happened with the Killzone 2 DLC maps..  Dont think Im going to get these ones.

  3. They should bring some COD 4 maps to MW2!

    • I bet thats what they will do. After all, the whole game is just a regurgitation of the last one, so why not regurgitate some more?

      • IW have said that some of the old maps wouldn’t work so well because of the new perks. Having ifinite sprint and such can ruin some maps. Some of them may still come though.

  4. As i played the multiplayer a few days ago i noticed so many of the best maps from the single player weren’t there. I think they’ve planned this perfectly. Who wouldn’t want to play in a destroyed Washington DC or help your squad capture the head quarters in a sleepy Russian village
Shame its going to be over priced

    • Or a Burger town/shopping centre place, or an Oil Rig. Or the Whitehouse?

Agree, I’d buy it if it had them in it.

  5. Spring……..I cant wait that long. I need new maps now.

  6. they shouldn’t use frickin twitter..

    • Why not? Easy way to communicate

  7. Will the dlc include customizable corners and bushes for the no-skill campers that infest MW2? Or maybe….just maybe…some decent guns? How can you call a game modern warfare and not have an SA80.Maybe we can pay for the option to switch between burst and full auto?

    • Wow, gun snobbery, now I’ve seen everything. Except a man eating his own head, of course.

      • Its not gun snobbery it just seems a strange omission.I don’t know anyone who likes MW2s guns.

      • I like them.

I do want to be be able to switch fire modes though.

  8. Place your bets noww!! How much will this DLC be! 3 maps for say.. £15? Thats fair by Activision standards.

    • I’m guessing at £10-£12.

    • £7.99 Any more and I’m not buying

  9. Roll On DLC, always keeps games fresh

  10. Hope to get some of the COD4 maps (Crash & Vacant) plus a couple of new maps.

    • Crash & Crossfire, my faves!! poke the rest. also i think i paid £7.99 for COD4 extra maps (broadcast etc), so hopefully that’ll b the max cost of new 1s?

      • How much was the RRP of MW2, though?
And the retailers won’t be able to change the price of DLC. Because they won’t be selling it.

  11. Global Thermo-Nuclear War just makes me think of War Games. How about a nice game of chess?

    • Brilliant film.
