The EU blog has updated with this week’s Video Store additions, which include the latest Fast and Furious, the new Harry Potter and Inglorious Basterds. Also featured is the laugh out loud funny The Hangover and spooky sci-fi masterpiece Moon. A great weekend’s worth of rentals, then.
In addition, the following movies now come with 5.1 surround sound:

I wish they were at least trying to keep to the 50 a week promise.

Ofcourse that was a ridiculous promise made by a ridiculous European Sony branch.

Just because Sony (or SCEE) say something, doesn’t mean they’ll stick to it

Is the 50 films for Europe each week? Meaning the UK store will only get some of those, and other countries making up the rest?

I guess that could be it, but at the UK launch they said 50 films a week

If Hangover is HD & 5.1 I may try the service, how long do you get the rental for and how much is it?

They are actually releasing HD rentals on time – but Hangover HD is next week.

Like the idea of the list for 5.1, pity there’s no HD list.

How much is it?
A Blu-Ray is £3.99 from Blockbusters and would probably be about 4/5x better in terms of quality, if this isn’t considerably cheaper then there is no point IMO

Saw Inglourious Basterds (they can’t spell) at the cinema and it was epic. Ordered the limited edition blu-ray off Amazon, can’t wait to watch it in hi-def

I picked up the ltd edition on monday. Fantastic in HD. Regarding the film… While I think its a brilliant film I would have loved to see more of the basterds antics. Especially the bear jew!

So, ten new films? Hardly fifty, but not bad.
I’m hoping on Christmas day (When I get a PSN Card) I can rent a movie to watch later that night, hopefully my internet and Sony’s servers will be up-to-scratch, and stream instantly.

Nice list. Not fifty as promised every week though, but oh well…
