New Mass Effect 2 Videos Show Vanguards, Miranda

Destructoid have posted up some new Mass Effect 2 footage you might be interested in. First up we have Lead Gameplay Designer Christina Norman talking us through one of the game’s six classes, Vanguard. Tailored for the close-combat junkies out there, Vanguard is the heavy option for when you just want to get up close and personal and turn someone into mince. Strong in “biotics”, the Vanguard Charge allows you to phase through objects, skirt over chasms, while also allowing for a quick dash away from the action if a respite from getting your ass handed to you is needed. It also looks painful for those at the wrong end of it.

Next up we get a look at Miranda, the Aussie sounding frosty space bitch who “might follow Shepard into battle” but he’ll still have to “earn her trust.” Doesn’t trust usually come before putting one’s hide on the line for someone else? Either way, expect Miranda to be part of your team and likely be the voice of reason/annoyance.
