Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands Screens

Complicated game-movie-game tie in with added skelletons.

You can call me skeptical if you want. Skeptical Pete. I don’t think these “leaked” screens for the new Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands game-of-the-movie-of-the-game (starring Jake Gyllenhaal) are totally genuine. They look very much like they might be in-engine concept stuff to me (target renders) but I’ve been wrong before (it was in 1997). Anyway, long story short, these have been published on IGN and subsequently splashed all over these majestical interwebs by anyone who’s anyone so we thought we’d give you a heads-up.

Click here for the original (I presume, it’s not sourced) IGN gallery. Or see below for the images from IGN in “easy-to-click-on” format (with IGN logo still attached, sorry).

  1. “game-of-the-movie-of-the-game” — This does not sound too good for the sake of the game

  2. I’ve enjoyed all the PoP games (including the most recent one!), and this looks lush, but I do wonder if they are really “in-game” shots… I expect we’ll see some in game footage before too long though

  3. I’m actually a little bit gutted that it hasn’t followed the same look as the last POP. I prefer the price in that one and the cell shading worked well and I’m not normally a fan of that art style.

    • I really liked that art style too (and Borderlands style) but I’m also glad it isn’t becoming too commonplace in games.

  4. I’m not sad this is going back to the original trilogy, but COME ON, we all know POP TSOT was the best of the three, so why going back to the dark 2004 prince (Who was voiced by Uncharted’s Navarro voice actor, yet was voiced by ACII’s Vieri de Pazzi voice actor in TSOT and T2T) and have monsters and gore and goliaths, specially if they only make the game worst (TSOT scored a 9.0 at gamespot, WW scored 8.8 (Had blood), and TTT scored 8.6 (Had blood and gore).
