Assuming you’ve got Silverlight installed, over on the Xbox website you’ll see a big image that says “CAPCOM x Microsoft” with a date of the 26th of January underneath, alongside “Capcom Title Premier for Xbox 360″.

We’ve no idea what this could elude to, but we’re fairly sure it’s not Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5 or God Of War III.  In fact, I’m positive it’s not.  However, this could be something rather interesting for Xbox 360 owners and if it’s a Capcom-powered fighting game against loads of Microsoft mascots this might be ace.

  1. YES! Capcom vs Microsoft would rock, just like all other Capcom vs

    • Only if we could kick Steve Ballmer’s arse…….I’ve always got a bad vibe when I see photos of him in the press…..

      • Agreed!. But i’ll like to see to see master chief vs ryu and marcus fenix chainsaw akuma’s ass. That would be epic.

  2. Very interesting indeed…..

  3. Think its a Capcom Vs game

I’d pay all the money in the world if I could Shōryū-ken Steve Ballmer,

although I do love Ballmer as the corporate world wouldn’t be the same without him… and this gives me another excuse to go Developers, Developer, Developers.

    • seriously, what was that guy on?

    • I absolutely love that video (the guy is ‘high’ on money mannn!) totally tapped…

  4. as long as we get to kick Master Chiefs arse its all good!

  5. I don’t think there is a single Capcom game this generation I’ve liked. I’m not expecting things to change anytime soon

    • thats a very good point actually

SFIV was amazing for about 10 mins unless you’re a hardcore fan of 1v1 fighters, no where near the widespread appeal that SFII had back in the day. Resi5 was an acquired taste.

Bionic Commando and Dark Void are pretty much universally panned and the Lost Planet series is average at best

Have Capcom lost it? Should PS3 owners care if MS has an exclusive?

On recent performance Capcom seem to show there best years are behind them!

      • There’s probably a full article in this but do you think that many of the historically strong developers/publishers (Capcom, Free Radical) are being replaced at the top by up and coming studios (for example Rocksteady and Level 5).

A quick glance at the top games from previous generations (using metacritic) you see the likes of ISS/Pro Evo, Tekken, Resident Evil, Tony Hawk, Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry (to name a few) all of which have struggled or had dramatic falls (Tony Hawk Ride being a prime example) this generation.

      • *nods* Would make a great article to see a shift in power (or at least a potential shift in power which would hopefully come with repeated success for the smaller/newer developers).

      • i don’t know if i would agree that capcom’s best years are behind them but their last couple of years have been low points in their history.

  6. “premier” implies it will be seen first on the xbox but not exclusively.

  7. Microsoft vs Capcom would be just space marines and the usual Capcom characters, so it *gasps!* a shooter

  8. Capcom vs Playstation, or Playstation vs XBOX

  9. I will buy a 360 and this game if Peter Molyneux is a character.
