Last week we saw both the PS3 and 360 chart being crowned with a new number one. Have things changed in just a week or have Mass Effect 2 and MAG managed to hold on?

UK PS3 Chart: Week ending 6th February:

Both Darksiders and Bayonetta have fallen out of the chart this week having made room for Dante’s Inferno and MX vs ATV Reflex. Dante’s Inferno fails to capture the top of the chart with MAG still holding on. Need For Speed: Shift has resurfaced…who’s still buying this game?

UK 360 Chart: Week ending 6th February:

Dante’s Inferno has failed to capture the number one spot on the 360 chart, too. Mass Effect 2 holds tight for a second week and MX vs ATV Reflex debuts at number 9. Falling from the chart this week is Darksiders and Avatar: The Game.

Even though Dante’s Inferno failed to claim the top spot, Electronic Arts must be happy with 4 games in each chart.

  1. I’m pleased that MAG is selling well, and it’s also nice to see that Dante’s Inferno is doing well on each chart.
As you said, EA must be pleased right now.

    • Im Pleased MAG Is Up There To,I Believe MAG Is Better Than MW2..Its Good To See Dantes Inferno There Epic Game A God Of War 3 Beater Anyone Think? I DO!.I Bet Bioshock 2 Kicks MAGs And Mass Effects Ass Of Top Next Week

      • Holy capitalisation Batman!

      • lol :)

  2. 4 games in the top 10 for EA is a job well done for them but its good to see that exclusives for both platforms are holding top spot, although I suspect the top of the 360 chart is outselling the the PS3 chart at least 3:1… maybe more

Good to see Dante next up, it one hell of an awesome game.

    • If you look at the individual formats chart you see this:

      1. Just Dance – wii
      2. Mass Effect 2 – x360
      3. wii sports resort – wii
      4. mag – ps3
      5. Dante’s Inferno – x360
      6. Dante’s Inferno – ps3
      7. Modern Warfare 2 – x360
      8. Modern Warfare 2 – ps3

They look fairly even; most games on the chart have the 360 and ps3 versions next to each other with the 360 normally on top. ACII is about 4 places higher on the ps3.

3:1 doesn’t look too accurate but I could be wrong. The charts above are a bit misleading as the “cheap” games don’t get included. For example both Lego Batman and Pure outsold Borderlands on the 360 this week.

      • I get some info a from a friend in GAME with there exact figures, and my local store sold 9 copies of MAG on Saturday, and 51 copies of ME2 on the 360… Just Dance sold 34. (Obviously you can’t read anything in to a solitary stores figures)

The only worldwide figures that are available (to Jan 30th, so a a week out of date) at the moment show that Mass Effect 2 sold 950k+ copies on the 360 whereas MAG sold 300k.

  3. More to the point who is still buying Avatar:The Game
EA are in total control of the industry judging by this chart. Not that that is a bad thing, I like EA, they release some crap sometimes but they also release an equal amount of good stuff

    • Depends on specific retailer discounting I suppose, I assume its available for about £17 somewhere

      • Yup. Amazon and The Hut both just over £17.

      • A lot of mums buying it for that kids (not knowing the game is crap).

      • Just shows you how the charts can be skewed by pricing then

  4. I hope Uncharted sticks around for a long time… MAG has surprised me, I thought it was crap.

    • Uncharted 2 certainly deserves to. It’s great fun in multiplayer, even though the party invite system can be temperamental to say the least!! ;)

  5. Dante’s Inferno is a great game. Avatar is doing well maybe because of the movie.

    • It certainly is an swesomely great game.

  6. I’m surprised to see MAG doing as well as it is. I thought that the technology behind it was pretty darn amazing, but didn’t think that the gameplay was up to much.

  7. Borderlands at 10th?
    Niceee :)
