Dead or Alive: Paradise Is Not Porn

Tecmo Koei America have came out defending Dead or Alive: Paradise, stating that the game is “trying to show that women are beautiful characters” and saying that it is almost certainly not porn.

“From our perspective, we’re trying to make beautiful women, that has been the focus,” said Yoshinori Ueda, in an interview with Eurogamer. “We want our characters to be beautiful. The DOA characters are strong and that they look the way they do is based on trying to bring out the beauty of women.”

He also added “We’re certainly not trying to degrade women, they have beautiful bodies. We’re trying to show off the beauty of their bodies but we’re not trying to be degrading about it – we’re trying to show that they are beautiful characters.”

I can’t help thinking the more he speaks the bigger the hole he is digging for himself, perhaps it would just be best for him not to say anything and let those who buy the game get on with their fantasies?
