Following news this morning that Battlefield Bad Company 2 has topped the charts, MCV are now reporting that the game has been named as the year’s fastest selling title so far.
Previous games to hold that accolade this year include Aliens vs. Predator from Sega and also 2K Games’ BioShock 2. We have no doubt that there will be another “fastest seller” tomorrow when Final Fantasy XIII finally launches Worldwide in what is probably one of the biggest and most important releases for Square Enix yet.
There is also God of War III to come later this month, although the chances of this selling more than Square’s RPG seem highly unlikely considering it is a PS3 exclusive.
Other titles of note this year which may give EA and Square a challenge include Halo Reach, Gran Turismo 5 (If it makes it this year) and perhaps dare we say even an new Call of Duty title.
