‘Outland’ To Be Announced For PSN/XBL [14]

Zipper Interactive have revealed M.A.G is receive a double update, with the first arriving today and another arriving tomorrow.

The first content to arrive is the Valor’s Bulldog, pre-order bonus armor. This was originally offered as an incentive to those who pre-ordered the game before January 26. This new armour comes with faction-specific camo, although it will only be available (for free) in the North America PSN Store for now. The release date for the free armour for other regions will be announced soon.

Finally Zipper also revealed that they will be releasing a new patch for the game tomorrow, this will fix a few technical issues with the game such as the “Lag Pedal” cheat exploit and a few bugs which were dampening the experience for some users.

You can check out the full patch notes below.

Patch v1.04 Notes

Gameplay

  • Fixed bug that made it possible for incapacitated players to be revived inside geometry (objectives, vehicles, walls, bridges, etc.).
  • Corrected “Kills at 120m” stat display bug.

Weapons

  • Sniper rifles have been tuned to be less effective when they’re not scoped.
  • Slightly pushed out “effective” range of all short-ranged weapons (pistols, PDWs, shotguns, SMGs).

Interface

  • Fixed error text “undefined Unnamed” and the appearance of a blue APC icon that appeared when a Squad Leader FRAGO’d an APC objective.

Server

  • Significant anti-cheat improvement that minimizes and blocks several “lag pedal” device exploits.
  • Enhanced all queues to accept Zipper-activated “Directives” game states.

Let us know what you think of these fixes and if there is anything else that you would like to see fixed in the game.

1 2

  1. why do they keep making things less effective

    • I’m sure it’s just rebalancing thanks to ongoing data and feedback. I think it shows their long-term commitment to the game.

    • Well, when i played it u could use a sniper rifle like a semi auto assault rifle…it’s a good idea IMO

    • ye but did you ever use your sniper not in scope i never did so tbh its not that amazing

  2. Others should follow their lead, don’t mind patches if you get free stuff!

  3. kind of silly of them to fix all the samll things, when the game is flawed in such a way that the teams and contracts are stuck.. they need to fix it so that its a competition again..

  4. Its still not patched as much as the layout of The Sixth Axis changes in the space of an hour.

  5. Love mag, really do, it’s an outstanding game and zipper’s support of it Thus far has been exceptional. If they keep rolling out minor fixes then very shortly we’ll be left with a perfect game. One thing you should be able to do is mark an objective on the map though, like in assassins creed. I’ve wanted to go and fix the aa battery before but couldn’t find it, had to keep bringing the map up as i couldn’t mark it so it shows on my mini map. Aside from that, the shadow was doesn’t really seem to exist does it? What’s the effect of winning or losing battles on the war? Nothing seems to happen. They should’ve thought of doing it like end war, their persistent online war was awesome, with a clear winner and loser at the end of each day, and ultimately an end to the war.

  6. What i would like to see is when your squad leader, you can place waypoints which show up on the HUD as a yellow thing. What would be good is if it changed all your squad mates current objective to regroup at the waypoint because at the moment you place the waypoint but know one ever goes there.

  7. “Sniper rifles have been tuned to be less effective when they’re not scoped” Seriously what is the point in this? I play as a full xp sniper with Valor and some of the time you need pump at least 4 bullets into your enemy anyway! Also has anyone noticed how easy the Valor sabotage level is far too easy to be defeated on?

    • This only affects your rifle when not scoped. It will have on effect when shooting trough the scope. I assume it’s just going to reduce accuracy when no-scoping, which is a good thing.

  8. They need to change the group cap. 8 isn’t enough.

  9. How could that work though? Since there’s 8 in a squad it seems sensible that’s the group cap otherwise you’d be in a different squad to your group which is kinda pointless.
