We’ve already discussed how technically stunning Crysis 2 is, and how the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the amazing looking game can be tweaked and changed on the fly by the development team. But, still, people were doubting the grunt of CryEngine.
Until now, because the below video, taken from GDC this week, shows how incredible the visual achievements really are. Procedural destruction, real physics, nice looking AI – it’s all here, including a look at the Sandbox tool that we first revealed back in February.
Let’s just hope the game matches the graphics.

Looks, well, awesome. I’m hoping for more info on it really, at the moment it’s just “Hey, check it out, this brick is really, really, really, pretty.”

You’d need about 8 or 9 discs for GOW3 if it was on DVD discs, and there’s no install and no loading times…

discs are just storage space, its nice having the size of blu-rays to play with, but the 360 does stream info faster from the disc than the ps3 does, it’s all swings and roundabouts.

Not as popular as ‘Thomas the tank’ engine.

I guess I’m just gonna have to wait to see which console I should buy this on. So far they look the same!
But really, if the 360 version comes out with more than one disc, then I’m getting it on ps3 for sure

I’m still a little disappointed that it seems like little more than a small incremental update to cryengine 2, id prefer to see them push the limits with a dx11 pc only engine.
