23We all love Sonic, especially when he’s in 2D and not joined by any of his dodgy mates. Which is why these new screens that show off the first episode of the downloadable future hit Sonic the Hedgehog 4 are particular welcome – they’re bright, colourful and rather lovely.
Sonic 4, previously codenamed Project Needlemouse, is due for release this Summer on PS3, Wii and Xbox Live. Rumours persist that the full collection of episodes will be available to purchase on disk at some point in the future, so those that like physical media should be catered for.
The game is under development by Dimps, but some members of Sonic Team are in attendance, including Sonic 3′s level designer, Takashi Izuka, so at least we’ll have some cracking levels to speed through.
