No Violent Games For Switzerland

The Swiss government have passed a law that may now lead to the complete ban of violent videogames within the country.

Whilst the details on how they will structure the law and what in-game events need to occur in order to get a game banned have yet to be decided and announced, Switzerland’s government can now be as strict as they want about the sale of offending titles.

The original motion, which was filed only last month, wanted the ban of any game that requires “cruel acts of violence against humans and humanlike creatures for in-game success”….So that’ll be nearly all of them, then.

Games featuring high PEGI ratings are almost certain to become the most affected.
