inFamous 2: The Skinny

Some developers are still producing PS3 exclusives, like Sucker Punch and the inFamous series, the second of which has been featured in the latest issue of Game Informer, an American magazine.

Sure to make a splash at E3 this year, here’s the best of the pre-show info, taken from the mag and posted online by PlayStationInformer:

• It’s set in New Orleans, except it’s not New Orleans, it’s a made up New Orleans called New Marais.
• Cole isn’t younger, he’s just new, with a new voice actor.
• He will be a super super hero, with better powers.

Reasonably interesting, but from here on in it gets really exciting…

• The camera’s a bit closer.
• There are cut-scenes.
• You can still jump up buildings.
• There are melee weapons.
• Zeke is still a nob, but he’ll be “more helpful”.
• More things “happen” in the game.

Sorry, but all that sounds like the dullest preview possible of what appears to be a by the numbers sequel.  I didn’t get on with inFamous all that much and 2 doesn’t look like it’s going to do very much to change my mind.

Still, we’ll wait for the mag proper before casting judgement.
