For Japan, anyway.

Looks like Sony has published a list of Move launch games for its native Japanese release window.  There’s nothing really unexpected in the list, and the actual quantity of content is a little thin on the ground with just five titles eeking out during October, but we’re sure there’s much more to come.

Move Required:

  • Eyepet – October
  • Sing and Draw – October
  • Sports Champions – October
  • Shake! Shake! Bowling – October
  • Echochrome II – October
  • Kung Fu Rider – November
  • The Fight: Lights Out – November
  • Start the Party – November
  • TV Superstar – December
  • Sorcery – 2011
  • Tumble – 2011
  • The Shoot – 2011
  • Heroes on the Move – 2011

In addition, there are five games confirmed to work with Move, but for which the brand new motion control device won’t be required.  Again, all of which we’re already familiar with, but it’s still good to know Sony have their biggest heavyweights behind their new controller, something that can’t (yet) be said for the competition.

Move compatible:

  • Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition
  • Time Crisis: Razing Storm
  • Hustle Kings
  • Killzone 3
  • Heavy Rain

  1. Is LBP 2 not confirmed to work with Move?

    • I think Media Molecule said LBP2 wouldn’t be Move compatible out of the box. They were concentrating on getting the game up-to-scratch then would add the functionality later down the line when things have calmed down.

      • According to the LBP2 packshot it will have Move features out of the box – the box is full of Move stickers and branding!

They didn’t commit to it when demoing the LBP ‘pink’ material at the Developers Conference, but that was before anyone knew LBP2 existed…

My guess is that some of the best early Move experiences will come from LBP2! (depending how much freedom they give you with the controller).

        What is ‘Sing and Draw’???

Also will EyePet be a patch/DLC or a new game?

      • That’s weird. Alex… Um… is it Evans? The head chappie who does most of the interviews, mentioned it not being ready at launch. Oh well. I’m happy with either.

      • According to the latest OPM, LBP2 will have some Move functionality out of the box, but much more will be added later.

      • Perhaps you just use the Move Controller to nudge the disc out of the box and get it into the PS3. Then they’ll add more functionality later on. :-P

  3. I suppose 5 isn’t the worst thing ever when you think about the games that’ll be getting patches.
Then again, there could be more of those getting patches..

  5. We’re getting more games than is listed here – there’s 2 golf games at least that will be out for launch or shortly afterwards.

  6. The 2 games that i thought were the best, Tumble & The Sorcerer not out till 2011, I think I’ll wait, will have the added bonus of more content and probably more competitive pricing

    • Yeah I’m with you on that one I think, although I do like to have new things.. it’s gonna be a tough one.

    • I would have thought Tumble would be a launch title.
Seems like a nice sandbox thing to give people just to try out their new tech and see what it can do.

  7. I’m intrigued by the Move compatible list, the Heavy Rain video impressed me a lot, will the title be patched?

    • I believe so but i’m not certain if it’ll be free.

  8. I’m interested to play Hustle Kings with Move. Maybe then I won’t get my ass repeatedly kicked by the computer.

  9. Most are bound the hold off until Christmas surely. That’s gotta be a big time for this kind of product.

  10. Yet another reason to get Resi 5: Gold. However at this rate I think I’ll be playing MGS Peace Walker until the release of PlayStation 5.

    • Does anyone know if Move will work with regular Resident Evil 5 or just the Gold edition?

      • From everything I’ve heard I’m pretty sure it’s only the Gold edition. I tried to find it online to buy it for when Move is released (on the assumption retailers will bump the price up for Move buyers) but struggled to find it in stock anywhere – maybe they will relaunch it at the Move launch?
