It’s one of the best Metal Gear Solid games – hell, it’s one of the best games on the PSP, period – so it’s only natural that Hideo Kojima would be asked about a possible PS3 ‘port’ of recent PSP hit Peace Walker. And let’s fact it, such a version would allow even more people to play his portable magnum opus never mind the fact that there’s a preinstalled MGS fan-base on the PS3 already there just ready to lap it up. Replying to the inevitable query from French site JeuxVideo at Japan Expo, Kojima-san was fairly noncommittal about the likelihood of a HD, super-version of Peace Walker. He said:
I can not say I’ll do a direct conversion of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on PlayStation 3. However, this game was a challenge in terms of its development on the PSP for me and I probably will preserve the base of it. And if I had to port it to another console, I would add even more depth to the story.
So, you’re telling me there’s a chance …

I don’t think Christ can help us on this one matey… From that statement i got that PW was developed just for PSP to push the console. If he did make a PW for the PS3 it will be a compleate rebuild, and story change…So we wont get a quick port :(
On the plus side, he did say yesterday that he is finalising on two possible new games. We were wondering how he could be finalising two games and making one, maybe this is one of them. So he is either converting/rebuilding peace walker, or making a new IP.

Oooh, this is (potentially) very exciting. Speculation must be handled carefully, but I would love for PW to be ported to PS3 because I have a bit of an issue with the controls on PSP. Heck, even a 360 port would be fantastic.

Have to stop to think on this. He promissed MGS4 trophies, and were are them?
Yes, I would love Peace Walker on PS3, because my PSP has the analog broken, so I can’t play.
I ain’t seeing this happening. Although I wish I’m wrong.

Are you sure Kojima isn’t a member of parliament? If he ain’t he sure has had lessons from one!

That’s a fairly serious “no” unless he runs out of ideas. Any fan waiting for such a thing would do well to distract themselves elsewhere.

I wouldn’t say it was a serious “no” at all. Money speaks volumes these days and considering Kojima knows how much PS3 fans want this game it may happen.
If a MGS game can appear on the 360 directly on release then anything is possible!

I would say it’s a serious no for the following reason. Hideo Kojima is an extremely talented guy and I reckon he’d always want to be pressing forward instead of revisiting the past. Don’t get me wrong, he’d flesh it out and make it glorious but unless a title is truly making him itch, his heart will lie in progressing a franchise or fashioning a new one.
Choosing between this or a new MGS makes me feel that a majority would plump for the latter.

Well you say that but they have ported MGS3 to the 3DS so you never know, if Peace Walker makes as bit an impact or gets enough acclaim we might get to see it pop up in later years.
