Michael Jackson: The Experience

One of the more surreal moments of E3 was at the end of the Ubisoft keynote when some dancers appeared on stage and shook their thang to a Michael Jackson backing track. The rather weird closing of the Ubi event certainly baffled a few TSA staffers in the small of hours of the morning.

It transpired that Ubisoft had secured the exclusive rights for a Michael Jackson game. Now we get some further details on what they’re planning to do with those rights. Titled Michael Jackson: The Experience and set for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, PSP and DS, it’ll probably come as no surprise that it will feature a mixture of dancing and singing and will make use of the variety of motion controls across the various platforms.

The PS3 and 360 version will both feature the usual variety of karaoke modes and, thankfully for me, an auto-pitch correction for bum notes. Digital Spy are also reporting that through Kinect, the 360 version will offer full body motion tracking and will project players on screen using Ubisoft’s ‘Player Projection’ technology. The handheld versions will be a strictly rhythm based affair, although unlockable mini-games sweeten the deal somewhat.

We have until its November release to perfect our crotch grabbing and Moonwalk.

  1. I was hoping for Moonwalker 2 for a little bit there.

  2. Will the Limited Edition contain a vial of Jesus Juice?
