Quantic Dream Working On Two Games

Deux jeux viennent.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, Heavy Rain studio Quantic Dream are reportedly working on not one but two new projects. Logic suggests one is Horizon, despite Monsieur Cage recently coming out and declaring ignorance of such a title existing, perhaps taking a page out of what we like to call “The David Jaffe Playbook of Misdirection.”

It’s hardly peculiar that a studio would have multiple projects concurrently in development, it is interesting to note, however, that the new titles (whatever they might be) are described as being “very different” to one another. Cage states to Examiner:

“We currently work on two very different projects. After the success of Heavy Rain, we continue to explore how we can go further with interactive drama, working on emotion and interactive storytelling for a mature audience, but with a very different story and a different approach. I think that people who enjoyed Heavy Rain will be surprised by what we prepare. Quantic Dream also explores how to use what we learned about emotion on Heavy Rain in very different types of experiences.”

You know what that means. Yep – Activision have got to them and they’re obviously working on a new Call of Duty game. Punctuated with the heartwrenching decisions of a disillusioned vet home from the war (pick a war, any war will do), you’ll be faced with the ultimate question: how far would you go for Captain Price?

Personally, can’t wait to see what Mr. Cage has in store for us next.
Loved Heavy Rain, and interested to play the next games when they launch.

Except if they did make another COD game, it would involve you coming back from war, trying to find a stable job, failing to find a stable job, watching some TV, going to the pub and drowning your sorrows, turning the lights on and off in your house, watching some TV, going to the job centre, crying when you can’t find enough change for the bus, trying to connect with your estranged son by staring intently at him as eats and watches TV, watching some TV yourself.

*looks at Heavy Rain* Yeh, but they’ve already nailed the tank controls so why not, eh?

If they were tank controls, the character rotation would be relative to the character, not the camera(like PC Fahrenheit, and RE1,2,3,and 4 and 5, any first and over the shoulder third person shooter) Heavy Rain Controlls should be called Advanced Point’n Click controls, were you move the cursor (Left Analog Stick) and then click R2 to make them walk to that point. The only diference from this and classic point and click is that you must hold R2.

If they do make a Heavy Rain-ish game, please mo-cap the children too. All the children in the game just felt so fake and almost spooky next to the very realistic adults.

There’s probably a law stating how many balls can be stuck to a child (mo-cap). :-P
