OK, so hands up who’s surprised?  What?  No one?  It seems like Master Chief is as resilient as they come and 343 Industries will be plunging him into yet more peril somewhere down the line.

343 Industries boss Frankie O’Connor told a panel at Comic-Con last night the following;

“We’d have to be the world’s biggest assholes not to follow through.  We certainly haven’t seen the last of Master Chief.”

Sentiments that would have most people nodding their head in agreement.  Master Chief is an iconic figure, and after Halo 3: ODST many people will jump at the chance to step into his massive boots once more.

*HALO 3 SPOILER ALERT*

At the end of Halo 3, Master Chief and Cortana are stuck on one half of a ship which has split in two. Before Chief gets sent into cryosleep he mutters the words “Wake me when you need me.”  A mysterious planet is then seen on the horizon.

O’Connor has confirmed that Chief and Cortana are now circling the planet with a rescue beacon being sent out and that the future game would focus on the end of this story.
